FOOTSTEPS

FOOTSTEPS read by the author

Footsteps echo in the cluttered Halls of Mind

Bounce and Reverbrate, somehow find the space

To echo on forever, sounds of previous pace

Of life's Past and often not our own

But Race's memory---- thoughts on loan

From history of Man's attempt to live

History of Man's attempt to give----

Something fit to live in Memory

Personal trauma lives again as plaintive cry

Sings on again as tragedy of Friend and Foe ally

To belie the difference

Sweetest Sounds of Loved Ones fill the space

Gentle, loud and loving, fuel the race

To loving Oneness

Harshly Humming Hatred hired the Hall

Batters Walls of Peace erected after Fall

From Harmony to Life

Visions clear of that Old Movie

Pictures quaint that once were groovie

Cast into the Dustbin of the Decade

Images of Hate we see

That Wickedness should surely be

Cast into the Dustbin of the Decade

Images of Hope we see

Light to surely set us free

From being cast into the Dustbin of the Decade

Footsteps echo in the cluttered Halls of Mind

Compete---- now loud, now soft, now excited to find

A resting place in recess---- hideyhole

Hidden cave from which to hone the Soul

Of Listening Man
