PARADOX

PARADOX read by the author

My love I cannot save you.

Dead men grind naked at the wind of the North

And I cannot save you

I cannot share your pain

Wreck of cruel Sea grinds upon the rocks

And I cannot save you.

But how can I live, live without you , when I cannot even share your pain

Oh sweet, sweet! I sink into memory; sweet refrain of past

The eyes that speak, the arms that hold, the sparkle of joy

Cast now upon the jutting, jagged rocks of reality.

The light of love that speaks for all who dream

Cast now upon the mistral; hot and high above the tumult of the wild land

A world of beauty tossed in dung; A Paradise just rarely rung

Then flung upon the bed of hope

To dampen it at birth

The blindness, wildness, rotten Soul and greedy goblins plaything goal for man

My love, I cannot save you; Despair upon the land

Brown clots of clay wring wild the wheezing gasp of air, despair upon the land

And yet, some strands, some substance from nought at all

Within me I can hear you call, my love

Be still, for they have had their day

Be still, for I can come your way, on gossamer threads of hope we play, the call of love and life

Exult my love, for I can save you.
