BRENNAN

BRENNAN

Brendan ... Brennus ... the wind whispers thy name

Trees they bow and the grasses wave in honour of thy fame

Your Warriors bow beside you, as they take you from the Earth

And the rich brown loam and the Golden Bone speak proudly of your birth

Son of King and Malmud code, in shadow of the Henge

Born to Gold and deeds so bold, to take the Celts revenge

To gates of Rome and Remus home, across a Europe wide

With fear of sword, and Roman word to cast prescient Right aside

This field, near Stonehenge and Roman revenge, Vespassian's camp nearby

Where this Celtic Earth contains his works, born under an English sky

Breathed in freedoms air and a Warriors care, that his people should survive

And his precious life, laid in strife, but four thousand years alive

Alive in the Wind that calls England's bright word

Of Freedom in Law under sweet Justice heard

Alive in the Earth, and all grown in this Land

The gold just a symbol still clasped in his hand.

Notes:

May 2002 ... unearthed near Stonehenge, a Warriors grave of 4000 years ago. His bow was buried with him and many more artefacts, making this a Bronze Age discovery almost unparalleled in Europe. Among the artefacts were gold earrings, denoting his elite status in the Europe of that time.

Brennan, Romanised as Brennus, was the legendary son of King Malmud, founder of the Malmic Code and English law (protected as the Law of England over Norman Law by Steven de Blois) ... and Brennan is the legendary founder of Milan and sacker of Rome as she grew to power.
