SISTER CLAY
SISTER CLAY read by the author
In the entire world, who knows me like you?
But here's the rub, sister dear, I know you too!
God saw us in our mother's womb and formed us from the clay
This, Psalmist poets of yesterday did say
So, sister mine, let the world.... confuse, bemuse, betray
But know this bond between us was forged by Sun's own Ray
To link us close in the shared start of the clinging clotted clay
Sometimes the World dissolves again
Into that muddy start
And all around the pressure builds
Builds up around the heart
Use me then, as I've used you, say
As horse to free the cart
From clinging mud and turncoats pay
Remembering sibling start
In that little ball of clay
